(Week 16) final term examination priod

First, it is media art of Jung Young Hun's ‘Infinite MONG U DO WON ‘ that I examine.
It is displaying with folding screen style mixed of tradition and modern.
1PCs per 2 touch screen monitor are linked to network, and medical diagnosis terminal is established.
When People who have RFID card enter into space, the butterflies that get in along coming people interact with them.
Also, if people touch them, they can be dragged.
Equipped on one side of it medical diagnosis terminal checks our body condition and then sends it to pc connected with the work.
Meanwhile, we can find the day of condition of our health through it. The flower’s color (10 steps) is determined depending on degree of our health a daily, shown in 3D graphic real time and displayed with some becoming butterflies when we touch these flowers. And If is touching butterfly for 3 seconds, health information is displayed. (Additional, there is the ascendant, news)
Main technology of this work is network technology that is RFID.
RFID is abbreviated word of 'Radio Frequency Identification', and it is technology getting into the spotlight excessively present.
If explain curtly... An antenna added in leader constantly giving out an electric wave, when tag (card) which stored ID and data reach arrange of it, the ID and data is sent to antenna, it send them to PC again and offer some service that is needed comparing to data base.
There are good things of RFID.
First, it can recognize several cards at the same time. Second, its awareness speed is great fast.
In fact, there was similar work in media art exhibition was in this summer vacation.
However, it was just simply the way that is an animation is displayed at folding screen style of monitor without interaction. (It looks like simple.)
So, I am glad when saw 'Infinite MONG U DO WON’ first time, and is wonderful and fresh even if applied RFID technology.
At once if it established at corridor of hospital, it would be sight to behold, amazing, indeed does work applicative.
What is more, it’d be better if we try to apply it for advertising or animation for only individual by appearing personal information such as own name, pictures something like that.
Imagine! When go to office at morning, is going to smile naturally if these phrases are written in electric board.
“Mr. Lee, Have a nice day with Vita 500!!”
“Ms. Kim, Did you wear DAKS today?”
